CME Launches Bitcoin Volatility Futures Offering New Risk Management Tool

CryptoSlate

CME's Bitcoin volatility futures enable trading based on volatility expectations, not price direction.

CME is launching Bitcoin volatility futures that allow trading on expected volatility rather than Bitcoin's price, starting June 1.

  • CME will list Bitcoin Volatility futures (BVI) on June 1.
  • The contract settles financially to the CME CF Bitcoin Volatility Index (BVXS).
  • This product enables trading volatility expectations independently of Bitcoin's price.

Bitcoin volatility futures provide a regulated way to hedge or speculate on volatility, adding a new dimension to Bitcoin market risk management.
